RAMP supports student achievement through scholarship opportunities that expand access to higher education, encourage research and creative work, and strengthen the development of emerging scholars.

Two scholarship pathways. One commitment to student success.

Each scholarship supports a distinct dimension of RAMP's mission: access and opportunity through the Dr. Frank T. Hawkins Scholarship Award, and research development through the Dr. Mary S. Hawkins Scholarship Award.

Dr. Frank T. Hawkins Scholarship Award

Created in honor of Dr. Frank T. Hawkins, the scholarship supports students in higher education and promotes access, research, creative work, and academic opportunity for students of color and economically disadvantaged students.

Guidelines and requirements

Academic Eligibility

Undergraduate Sophomore2.75 GPA
Master's Student3.0 GPA
Doctoral Student3.2 GPA

Additional Requirements

  • Submit at least two letters of recommendation.
  • One letter must come from a current RAMP member.
  • One letter must come from a faculty member or administrator explaining why the applicant should receive the scholarship.
  • Applicants must have attended at least one RAMP conference.
  • Awardees must have the Bursar verify enrollment and the address where scholarship funds will be sent.
  • Funds will be sent to the institution's foundation for distribution.

Strengthening student research skills

The applicant must be a current student member of RAMP and be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program at the time of submission.

Complete the ApplicationComplete the official scholarship application and submit all required materials for consideration.

Observe the Application WindowApplications are available March 31 and close April 30. Awardees are selected by June 7, with funds distributed for the Fall 2026 semester.
